30 in 30 Challenge: Day 2

Style Nation (I love that term), say hello to my mom! I am leaving her a message while taking my photos. Multi-tasking for the win!

Also a win: this outfit. I'm keeping the accessories simple this first week of the 30-in-30, letting the clothes and combinations take center stage for now. I am certain in another week or two I will be bored and throwing every scarf I have at the challenge. So today is only a belt, but it's a pretty one! A stretchy navy (Old Navy, of course, and long gone, also of course) that I kind of liked wearing slung low instead of up around my waist. With the long tunic (and my current inability to button it all the way) and the shorter jacket/sweater,the proportions looked better worn low than high. My waist is very high up.

Colorwise I went with navy and brown and white, again keeping it simple and neutral, but in brighter, cooler tones than Day 1. Wore just a simple silver necklace at my throat, the chocolate brown NYDJ ponte skinnies and my BOC brown suede clogs. The tuxedo button down tunic is also an Old Navy in-store-only find, and I seriously love it and its red-striped twin. I ironed them both in the morning to prepare for the challenge and a) they are much easier to iron than I thought, and b) I probably could have worn the re-striped one today instead. Hmmm, another outfit for Day 23? :)

Good day, hurray! Also good: the chicken noodle soup I made for my MF lunch. Getting the right proportion of water makes such a difference. I also tried the new parmesan cheese puffs as one of my meals; they were really tasty but it is hard to think of that as a "meal". I will continue to order them but not more than a box at a time. I made it through Day 2 of that too!

  3. You have gained mastery over Day 2. It cowers to your greatness!

I can't help but see this all as Dungeons & Dragons. In game terms you just killed some kobolds, and if you can make it through three more days with both Medifast and the 30 for 30, you'll level up!
