Tuesday: The Boots that are cooler than I am

I am a bad blogger; I never even mentioned that I was craving these boots. I had seen them over on the YLF store a couple of weeks ago, but could not wrap my brain around the idea of suede boots for the spring/summer. Then I saw them on Laura65 when we met for drinks and fell immediately in love with them. My god, wouldn't you?



Not only are they slouchy, perforated, heeled, nude (all things I have been looking for in a spring boot), they are WATERPROOF. Meaning when it's rainy and horrible out -- which is exactly when you want a pair of awesome boots, especially when you are having as miserable a spring as we are -- it is a perfect time to wear them. They were a good sale too: $150 off their regular price. Good boots are worth the cost.

But! The boots weren't the only new item being worn; I picked up the skirt from Target last week. It is new from their Merona Fit line. It has sort of Spanx shorts inside, which is both weird and cool; it got rid of any lumps on my dupa, but it kind of felt like a tennis skirt more than a dressy one. But I like the drape of the fabric, not too snug like a true pencil skirt and not too a-line either. For $18 I think it is going to get a lot of wear. I am considering getting it in grey too.



Funnily, my pleather moto jacket got the most compliments yesterday. I was at my old office for a meeting, and a couple of the guys I used to eat lunch with commented on how nice it looked and if it was real leather. They absolutely did not believe me when I said it was from Target; one of them actually had to feel the fabric on my arm. Ha! (Of course what made it funnier is that both of them are happily married suburban dudes with kids. They would always talk about snowblowers at lunch, and roll their eyes when I talked about shoes. I think they miss my fashion conversations! Hee hee hee.)



I almost forgot! It was truly an outfit that got a lot of random compliments. After I left dinner with Shopping Friend, two ladies walking to their car stopped to ask me how I had tied my scarf. I replied that it was an infinity scarf (a birthday gift from my two current co-workers), so it was one big circle that I looped once around my neck. I just loved the color against the neutrals.

Yeah, this was one of my most favorite outfits in a while. The slump is over!
