Week 1 musings

Waiting for my WW meeting to start so I am going to jot down a few thoughts from my first week:

-I forgot how obsessed with food I get the first week. The menu planning, the extra shopping to get the 2-3 things I forgot I needed. No wonder they don't want you to start exercising the first week; you're too busy getting your food house in order.

-I exceeded my extra points this week but I kept tracking. That's the most important part.

-I had two major victories in cabinet cleaning. First I baked off 9 dozen frozen cookies that were languishing in my freezer, and over the course of 3 days I only ate two of them. The rest went to work.
Second, I threw out a quart and a pony of ice cream out of my freezer. I did eat a half cup of the pint first, to see if the flavor was good enough to salvage and savor over time. It wasn't. So out they went! Not gonna waste my points on foods that are just okay.

-okay time for meeting. 3.4 pounds down!!!

A typical lunch last week.

  1. I truly believe the hardest part of losing weight for me is the food obsession that comes with it. I struggle to balance that all the time. In the same breath while I would like to just eat and not think, it's just not possible for me to do that and lose weight.

    -3.4 pounds is fantastic!

  2. Go Kristen! Well done on giving away & throwing out food. I agree, if I'm going to have a special treat (like ice cream) it better be fabulous.
Great looking lunch! Is that a mid morning snack (elevensies) as well?
    Yay for 3 lbs!

  3. Good start! I started WW back on Jan 2 - not doing meetings, just online (OBSESSED with the app, it is AMAZING!). I went from 154 to currently 138 (two points lower than my goal, booyah!). I have gone over my weekly allotment of points a few times... mostly wine-related, ha! I need to see if I am following you on Instagram... (PS This is Taylor formerly of It's My Cardi - hi!)
