Yes, I started Weight Watchers again this morning. I'm not sure if I will post much here about it, but I wanted to mark the occasion with a date, a weight, and the reasons why.
Date: March 16, 2014
Weight: 239.8
Why:
1. I turned 46 a couple of days ago. When I roll that number around in my head, all I can think is, "Boy, that's close to 50." And I don't want to be this weight, this uncomfortable with my body, when I am 50. So I need to start working on it now because it's going to take a while.
2. My 25th college reunion is May 2015, next year. I went to my 25th high school reunion a couple of years ago at this weight, and while I made a good show of it, I was miserable. There were only 2 of us who had gotten big, everyone else was still looking trim and healthy. I don't want to go through that again.
3. I'm tired of only wearing black pants and long sweaters. I want to wear dresses again!
4. I'm tired of being this size.
So it's time to get going on this. I'm ready, and that's half the battle.
I miss you guys!
Good luck, Kristen, and a very happy birthday to you, my dear. Sending you happiness and good vibes.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first step to success in anything one does is some sort of acknowledgement. You've acknowledged several things here. To me, that means you're on your way!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Kristen, I know you can do it! I agree with Helen, the hardest part is admitting this and deciding you want to change! So many of us have been in your shoes, we'll be here for whatever kind of support you want/need along the way.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!!! You've got it in you!
ReplyDeleteWe've missed you too! Good luck in everything, WW strikes me as the most sensible plan around and I know you have the willpower - I've seen it! Just drop us a line once in a while. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've so missed your posts Kristen - So happy to drop in and see a new post - glad to hear you've got a plan of attach!! - I know that 50 line really got me going to get back where I wanted to be!! I'm now on the other side of that line and so happy I got myself where I wanted to be - I'm cheering for you!! - keep us posted!! - t
ReplyDeleteNow, that was really the greatest knews in a while, Kristen! Happy dance! I came only by random, always hoping for your comeback! We are the same age, and I'm also dieting from beginning January(atkin/paleo kind). And it's first time that I aknowladged it will take time to reach my goal weight so it's better to approach with the 4/5 rule, than the exigent 100%-which can be easily failed, so much more risky. Now, I only hope you will post here again, soon! Expecting to see some great WW recipees, and...your new fab dresses-again!!! I know you will look smashing at the 30 yrs reunion so, go on girl!
ReplyDeleteLove, Lyn(67).
Wishing you success, dearie. I guess doggie walking can be some of your exercise! :) Cheering you on!

Ok lady - what is your IG username? I am tayloradaly - come find me!
ReplyDeleteI am so thrilled to discover you are blogging again! I really missed your posts!!!
ReplyDeleteHooray! You're back! I was just thinking about your blog the other day and how much I love your posts! The last few weeks I've been tossing around the idea of WW myself since probably 90 percent of what's in my closet is no longer fitting. That, and I've been watching a friend of mine lose weight and look fantastic and I'm thinking it may be time for me to do the same.
ReplyDeleteI wanna see you sporting some kickass Kohl's dresses!
