March Edits and Purchases

Edits this month:

This purple top did not survive the Color Project: Red initiative. I am slowly purging as many wide-neck tops as I can; I hate, hate, hate that neckline so prevalent in plus-size shirts.

This LOTF Outlet tee is a triplet; I kept the white one after much dithering after the White Project, and the version I have in light purple is going nowhere. This one has gotten a lot of wear, especially last summer, but it's the last unworn item of Color Project: Red and it's been hanging in my closet for weeks.  I could not find anything to wear with it! I finally tried it on the other day, and realized the short hem is what has been bugging me about it. So out it goes.

My broken circle necklace! Sob.

This melon cardigan had a nice run, but in the end the cheap fabric got too sprung out.

This coral shortsleeve faux-wrap from Forth & Towne had a long, long run. I'm going to miss it, but it's too faded, stretched out, and pilly.

Nothing wrong with this pretty lilac cardigan except it is too small for me.

Ditto this Gap Outlet purple cardigan with grey stripes.

This Target tank suffered the same fate. Pity, because the ruffled edging made it look great for a layering top for work.

Purchases were a few solid pieces: the birthday gifts, of course, and a few pullover sweaters in various weights and styles.

I've pretty much worn everything on the blog already.

Still on the hunt for some new pants: I have orders being returned and/or exchanged from Eddie Bauer, Lands End and Gap. I am striking out all over! Sigh.

Next month *gulp* I am considering reviewing and editing my shoe collection. I don't want to, but it's time. I have quite a few pairs that I haven't worn in years, and it's time to acknowledge I probably won't wear them again. Think good thoughts for me!

What did you buy this month?

  1. I love you in that melon color, I hope a suitable replacement turns up! Likewise the gray sweater.

If it's any consolation, I had that ruffled edge tank from Target and ended up getting rid of it. It was cut very straight from chest to hip. Not good for a curvy girl.

I'm pretending that it's warm outside and wearing my Spring sweaters, under my coat. They're almost done redoing the data center down the hall so the doors to the outside should be closed soon -- making Spring blouses instead of Spring sweaters more of a workplace possibility.

    1. That was my last melon sweater, alas. I am on the lookout for a suitable replacement for summer.

I'm wearing spring tops too, and more ballet flats. We will get there!

  2. I could fix that necklace for you with my handy dandy needlenose pliers!

I have that same Target tank and love it, especially the ruffled edge, but it's getting pretty worn. I'm hoping they bring that style back because I used it a lot for layering.

I bought several of the ruffled tees from Target last week. They hide my stomach well. :)

    1. I tried fixing it a couple of times, but I've learned once that link stretches enough, it's always going to be a problem. I have plenty of other silver pendants necklaces anyway!

  3. I just e-mailed you a picture of one of my purchases last month :-) I also have an Old Navy gray corduroy pencil skirt and several faux wrap dresses waiting to make their debut (all from eBay, along with those fuggo Dress Barn shirts that I am mostly handing off to my aunt).

Being the pal I am, I will take those cardigans off your hands. And based on your friend's comment above, I will have to try the Target tank, because if it's cut too straight, it might not be good on me.

    1. Hee, well we will see if they fit, as most are XLs. :) But they are in the bag for you!

  4. Ummm, where is the mention of the "magical" bra???

    1. Technically, it was an April purchase. :) And it is so magical it is getting its own post. LOL!

  5. Sounds like I shop a lot of the same outlets. I cannot believe how the quality is going downhill. Wow. The tops are as thin as tissue paper, & pilling is now a given; it's just a matter of how soon. Dislike!

If you can't fix the necklace, at least put the rings on another chain, don't ya think?

I wonder what this magical bra is; & do I want one or not? Maybe not, if it is being purged.

    1. The magical bra is getting its own post, coming soon! Definitely not getting purged, I just bought it!

Eh, I just gave up on the necklace; I have several other long silver pendants that can be worn more in its place.
