Breakfast: yogurt, watermelon
Brunch: peanut butter and jelly sandwich, skim milk
Snack: blackberries and strawberries (during food prep time)
Dinner: green salad with peppers, gorgonzola and honey mustard dressing, slice of pizza, beer
Snack: WW ice cream bar
For the week, I have:

Blackberries and strawberries. Mouth-watering, right?

Watermelon. It's on its last legs; I may have to buy a new one mid-week.

Colored bell pepper and sliced crimini mushrooms for salads. (The larger container didn't work out well last week, but I need some grab-and-go veggies.)

Pan-steamed broccolini and mushrooms, which went into...

Fritatta. I added skim sharp cheddar and some of that peppered turkey bacon. Cut up into 6 pieces, it reheats in 30 seconds; perfect for breakfast with a big side of fruit. I WILL beat that breakfast sandwich monster! :)
I also have sweet Italian chicken sausage, a loaf of seeduction bread, crab meat, plenty of romaine lettuce, and yogurt. If the temps stay reasonable (i.e. less than 100 degrees), I have spaghetti squash and turkey meatballs. The WW ice cream bars are almost gone, but there are two boxes of sugar free popsicles. They do the job just as well!
Here are two things I will not be consuming this week: pizza and alcohol.
What are you planning on eating this week?
Cutting out alcohol always makes such a big difference for me. Unfortunately, I can't seem to stop myself from having a nice cold beer when I get home from work in the summer.
ReplyDeleteThose berries look so good and fresh! And thanks for reminding me I have some chicken sausage sitting in my meat drawer.
I love beer in the summer but I feel guilty consuming so many calories. Miller has a 64-calorie beer, ideal for such situations. I keep a few bottles in the fridge. The only downside is it doesn't taste very good.:(

That brocolini and mushroom looks so good. Might need to be a future egg white fritata. :)
ReplyDeleteAs much as I try to plan for the week it can be hard when I do a lot of client entertaining. I definitely have my lunches packed, but dinners are a little more TBD.
Ooh, your fritatta looks wonderful!!! What a great idea to start out the day with vegetables!
ReplyDeleteLove that frittata! Like a quiche but healthier without the crust. I went through my freezer recently and put together this week's menu with a few UFOs (Unidentified Frozen Objects). Well, not unidentified, but a few odds and ends. Time to move them along. I limit booze to weekends: Gin & Tonics ... it wouldn't be summer without them.
ReplyDeleteOh all this looks delish!
ReplyDeleteI saw on Sprout TV (hey I have a toddler) where you cut up watermelon into cubes, freeze it in a Ziploc bag, then smash the frozen chunks and make sorbet. I think I may try that to add variety to the summer fruit 0 PointsPlus. have you heard of this/tried it?
