1. Grey sheath dress, Classiques.
I am mad for the neckline, and the dress itself is so very 1960s Mad Men! The only thing that worries me is the lack of sleeves. What could I wear with this when it's cool out? Would a white button-down underneath work? I tried a couple of black jackets, and they were only meh. A cardigan might be the way to go...
2. Knit dress, Donna Morgan. The color doesn't show well here, but it is a rich maroon-brown. Luscious!
This one will be a workhorse dress, with boots/booties and tights in the winter, and heels and hose in the fall.
3. Turquoise corduroy blazer, Halogen. This is the only piece I am iffy on, but I think the bright color will keep me grabbing for it again and again, so I should keep it.
4. Mustard yoked sweater, Semantiks. Just a cardigan, I know, but I love mustard and the fabric is silky-warm. If I only get one cardigan the whole season, this is the one I would want it to be.
[ETA: Please ignore the heels. I was too lazy to find a different pair after I switched to the jeans. I know the jeans are too short for them, Angie and Kris! Heh.]
5. Mulberry wool swing coat, Guess. I walked downstairs to show Hubby this one, and his instant comment before I even got to the bottom of the stairs was, "Adorable." It really is!
Buttoned is just as cute, and the color is divine. I've got my winter coat! (The one I can wear when it's not puffer-time. *g*)
6. Kenneth Cole New York long leather trench, in "taupe". It's lamb, and it is like BUTTAH. The color is hard to describe, but it's definitely not taupe, nor is it chocolate. More of a dusky mocha, with a bit of a green undertone.

I am posting so many pictures of it because I am not sure about the fit. It's a large, and it is a little roomy. The medium did fit, but there wasn't room for much else. I can fit a jacket under the large. See?
So should I stick with the large, or exchange for the medium?
7. Grey, black and white paint-splatter pencil skirt, Trina Turk. Words cannot express my love for this skirt. The fabric is perfection, heavy and it doesn't wrinkle and it drapes so, so well. The pattern is gorgeous but not obnoxious, and it fits like a dream. I don't need a million skirts, I just need this one.
Here it is with the turquoise jacket.
Do I have to wait until fall to wear it? Do I? Hunh? Do I?
So what's the verdict? Did I do okay?

Amazing! You look great! I love all of the pieces you bought and am definitely jealous...keep the blazer, it's really cute on you!!! I vote for keeping the trench in large-it looks perfect on you and it's a good thing to have just a little bit of room in order to wear a sweater or other jacket underneath. Again, you look so great!!!

I'm not even sure if I can pick a favorite, but your coat is fantastic, I LOVE the bright color of the blazer, and the dress is absolutely perfect. Seriously, I'd think about that one myself if I could afford it. Way to go focusing on high-priority AND high quality items!

ReplyDeleteKari, I think both dresses would be fantastic on you, and the knit is much cheaper than the sheath. You might want to just head over to Nordie's and try it on. Just to see!
